Tech One Co., Ltd. will release the 7-inch gaming UMPC ”One Gx1 Pro“ made by ONE-NETBOOK equipped with the 11th generation Core on the 31st. The price starts from 168,000 yen (excluding tax). I was able to borrow a prototype before the official release, so I would like to take a closer look at the appearance. Reviews including performance will be delivered again in the product version.
OneGx1 Pro is a high-performance UMPC with a 7-inch LCD and a compact size, but with a Core i7-1160G7 CPU. This Core i7-1160G7 is a model that belongs to the so-called “Y” series in the past, and it is a processor that saves power of around TDP 7-9W rather than absolute performance as a processor.
However, in this machine, 40W was set for PL2 when there was spare capacity in thermal design / power, and 20W was set for PL1 when it was operated for a long time. According to the official specifications of Intel Ark, the upper limit of Configurable TDP is 15W, so it seems that the direction is to narrow down the performance that the Y processor can produce to the last drop.
This model is the successor to the “One Gx1” equipped with Comet Lake, but it has been brushed up internally, especially the fans made in Japan. It’s a short-term trial, but at full revs it ends up with some noise, but it’s a lot quieter than the One Gx1. The temperature is also low enough not to make you feel “over there”.
Regarding the exhaust port, it would probably be more advantageous in terms of heat dissipation if it was opened a little more, but the fact that there was no change despite the improvement in TDP of the CPU this time was due to the improvement of the fan and the CPU process. You can think that some are due to evolution.
It became a simple black color
The bottom of the main body. The design is the same as the One Gx1
The liquid crystal is glossy and has a little strong reflection.
The rear part of the main body. 2 Thunderbolt 4s, 1 USB 3.0, audio input / output
The left side of the main unit is a microSD card / SIM slot
Micro HDMI output on the right side of the main unit
OneGx1 Pro is also a topic that the body color is black. The previous One Gx1 was blue and I had the impression that people were selected a little, but with this machine it became the same black as the rear and the sense of unity increased. However, fingerprints and hand sweat are a little noticeable, so those who are interested should carry something to wipe the body at the same time.
The liquid crystal is a 7-inch LCD that supports 1,920 x 1,200 dot display and is the same as before. By the way, this unit also uses a portrait-type liquid crystal, which is rotated 90 degrees by software to display the landscape.
From the latter half of 2020, I feel that the UMPC battle between GPD and ONE-NETBOOK has become more and more fierce, but on the contrary, the differentiation has progressed considerably and it is said that it is following a completely different route. think. After this, I am refraining from evaluating the main review of One Gx1 Pro and “GPD WIN 3”, so it is the author’s opinion at the moment, but if you want to cut off general use and specialize in games, WIN 3 is truly 5.5 type. For those who say it’s too small, I think the One Gx1 Pro will be better off if you consider general use such as WIN Max, LCD resolution and keyboard.
keyboard. The prototype I got this time was a Japanese layout
Symbols such as key brackets can be used with the Fn key.
Where it is Tab in the English layout, it is full-width / half-width in the Japanese layout. Also, only F1 is used with the Fn key, but F2 to F10 can be entered without a combination.
The power button glows blue at standard fan rotation settings
It became light blue in silent mode
Turns yellow in fan full rotation mode
Keyboard with RGB LED backlight (4 zones)
